Here’s a quick note to let you know how I can help you or anyone you might introduce to me.

The Roberts – sisters Jean and Frances, and brother Jim – couldn’t come to an agreement about what to do with their deceased mother’s house.  Jean wanted a quick sale and quick division of the proceeds.  Frances wanted to wait to list the house, and invest in upgrades that would bring a higher sales price.  And Jim wanted to keep the house as a rental, with himself as the property manager and the greater share of income.

Frances had picked up my flyer from my listing across the street from their mother’s house, and called to ask if we could all meet.  After she outlined the situation, I wasn’t sure if they were looking for a Realtor – or a referee!  We met at my office and I spent time asking each sibling what was important about their preference.  Then I listed a number of options and after an extended conversation, the siblings agreed to invest in some upgrades, list the house with me, and I’d also help Jim purchase a rental property from his proceeds.  Jean said, “As a negotiator, you’re worth every penny we’re going to pay you!”
