Eva Medina, owner of Medina Property Services in El Paso, Texas, has spent years in the field inspection and property preservation industry, and she has the stories to prove it.

Whether it's the homeowner who left his tiger in the garage, the pack of six wild dogs who refused to let her leave a mobile home, or the family that told her they can't get their housing situation in order because they're too busy remodeling the bathroom, Eva has done and seen it all in the field.

But she says, the worst was the homeowner who seemed particularly obsessed with the idea that no one should touch his electronics.

“We were doing this eviction,” Eva said. “They're only supposed to take four hours, this one took eight.”

Those eight hours were filled with many surprises. Eva remembers one of her co-workers calling her over and asking her to look inside a refrigerator located on the property. “He says, 'Look it's a brick,' ” Eva recalls. Unfamiliar with the term, the co-worker had to explain he was referring to marijuana.

At the time, the homeowner was off-site renting a U-Haul for his move. Upon further inspection, Eva's crew found six AK-47s under the couch and 50 pounds of marijuana located in a car next to the home.

When the homeowner finally returned, law enforcement officers and representatives with the Drug Enforcement Agency were combing the property. It turns out the man landed in a heap of legal trouble. Ironically, his electronics were never the problem.
